SUMMARY:Cash Flow Model
DESCRIPTION:A simple financial model can be created using your company’s financial data (historical and/or forecasted). \nCFOs and financial analyst use financial models to determine if/when a company will be profitable\, what is the correct selling price\, how many “widgets” need to be sold to be cover cost and how much money is available to pay expenses. \nFinancial models are used for start-ups and for on-going analysis to make sure the company is operating at an optimal financial performance. This process is also used to identify financial issues BEFORE they happen. \nIn this session (Part 1) we will learn the purpose and importance of a managerial accounting. You will view a simple financial model and learn how to properly gather data. In the next session (Part 2) you will see a model created and analyzed using a sample company. \nThis webinar is taught by Lori Williams\, who has an extensive background in finance working as a CFO turnaround consultant\, banker and professor. She is known as the “guru of all numbers”. \nThis webinar is NOT recorded. However\, it is presented monthly and can be repeated as desired. Attendees will receive a copy of presentation materials. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Should You Be Charging Sales Tax – What You Need to Know!
DESCRIPTION:Should you charge sales tax? What if you are selling out of state or on an online platform?\n\nThese are the type of questions that many business owners are asking. Addressing sales tax requirements has been even more confusing. On June 21\, 2018\, The United States Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in South Dakota v. Wayfair that states can mandate that businesses without a physical presence in a state with more than 200 transactions or $100\,000 in-state sales collect and remit sales taxes on transactions in the state.\n\nEconomic Nexus gave states the ability to choose whether residents receiving products/services from out of state companies should pay sales tax. Unfortunately\, this varies state by state\, requiring sellers to have an understanding about the rules specific to the states they serve.\n\nSome selling platforms handle the invoicing\, collection\, and remittance while others simply allow you to ass sales tax to the invoice. It is crucial that you understand the requirements and know exactly what services the selling platform is providing.\n\nJoin us for our upcoming seminar where will address this and other considerations regarding the collection of sales tax. This class is being taught by Lori Williams.\n\nLori Williams is a business consultant\, speaker and writer. She has over 30 years of experience in business planning\, including start-ups\, growth and expansions. Lori is a well-known expert on business finance. She believes entrepreneurs should have a basic understanding of their company’s financial health. She provides business education and advice through her on-line courses\, eBooks and individualized consulting sessions. Her eBooks are distributed through Amazon\, ITunes and Barnes and Noble. Lori holds an MBA from Pepperdine University\, BS Business and Management\, an AA in Medical Science and a Practitioner’s license in NeuroLinguistic Programming.\n\n\nhttps://register.gotowebinar.com/register/7664595949913614687 \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:2025 Employment Law Updates
DESCRIPTION:New year\, new employment laws. Are you in the know about the latest employment regulations? If not\, don’t fret. Join us for a briefing on what small employers need to comply with in 2025 as employment laws change. \nSome of the topics we will cover:  \nCA Minimum wage in increasing to $16.50/hour*\n\nWest Hollywood Minimum Wage (as of January 1\, 2025) $19.65\n*Note: some local cities and counties have separate minimum wage ordinances that change monthly around mid-year. Additionally\, there are industry-specific requirements in the fast-food and healthcare industries.\n\nLeave of absence: \nEffective January 1\, 2025\, employers will no longer be able to require that an employee use accrued vacation hours prior to tapping into Paid Family Leave or state disability benefits through the state. Additionally\, the wage replacement benefit rate is increasing to 70-90% of an employee’s qualified earnings (up from 60-70%).\n\nHiring:\nA new law will prohibit employers from listing a driver’s license as a preferred qualification for job candidates unless certain conditions are met. Employers cannot include a statement in a job advertisement\, posting\, application or other materials that an applicant must have a driver’s license\, exceptions apply.\n\nPostings & Notices:\nEmployers must post an updated worker’s compensation notice informing employees of their right to seek legal counsel to advise on their rights under the law\nAlso\, the crime victim’s poster will be updated to reflect the new governing agency of the law\, the California Civil Rights Department (CCRD)\, previously\, the Labor Commissioner’s Office handled these complaints. Last\, the Labor Commissioner will update the Whistle Blower’s poster which employers should replace as soon as it is updated to be in compliance.\n\nIndependent Contractors:\nCalifornia has passed the Freelance Worker Protection Act which will require that employers set an agreement with freelancers for “Professional Services” that are worth more than $250. Specific criteria apply to the contract including a payment date of no later than 30 days from the date the services are rendered. Similarly\, the City of Los Angeles has an existing ordinance that also requires an agreement if doing business with Freelancers. Understanding when they apply is critical.\nAnd More… \nThere are several more employment laws and employer requirements going into effect. These are just some of the highlights. Join us on February 18th\, 2025 for a thorough review of the latest employment laws going into effect in 2025 and how that will impact your small business. \n\n\n\nPresented by HR Expert: Xiomara Palma \n*The WEBINAR will be conducted via ZOOM. SUMMARY:2025 Employment Law Updates – HR Webinar
Additionally\, the wage replacement benefit rate is increasing to 70-90% of an employee’s qualified earnings (up from 60-70%).\n\nHiring\nA new law will prohibit employers from listing a driver’s license as a preferred qualification for job candidates unless certain conditions are met. Employers cannot include a statement in a job advertisement\, posting\, application or other materials that an applicant must have a driver’s license\, exceptions apply.\n\nPostings & Notices\nEmployers must post an updated worker’s compensation notice informing employees of their right to seek legal counsel to advise on their rights under the law\nAlso\, the crime victim’s poster will be updated to reflect the new governing agency of the law\, the California Civil Rights Department (CCRD)\, previously\, the Labor Commissioner’s Office handled these complaints. Last\, the Labor Commissioner will update the Whistle Blower’s poster which employers should replace as soon as it is updated to be in compliance.\n\nIndependent Contractors\nCalifornia has passed the Freelance Worker Protection Act which will require that employers set an agreement with freelancers for “Professional Services” that are worth more than $250. Join us on January 21st\, 2025 for a thorough review of the latest employment laws going into effect in 2025 and how that will impact your small business. \n\n\n\nPresented by HR Expert: Xiomara Palma \n*The WEBINAR will be conducted via ZOOM.
