SUMMARY:Learn CFO Skills: Financial Modeling Part 2
DESCRIPTION:Business owners struggle with business decisions that affect the financial health of the company. “Are we selling at the right price?” “Are we making money?” “Can we afford to hire someone?” Many times\, these decisions are made without a thorough understanding of the financial implications. This does not need to be the case. There are simple mathematical calculations that can be used to answer key business questions. Financial Models can be used to monitor sales\, overhead and profitability. They can be applied to any business\, independent of size and scope. \nThis session will teach you how to use a financial model for key decision-making. In the previous session (Part 1) we learned the purpose and importance of Managerial accounting. You viewed a simple financial model and learned how to properly gather data. In this session (Part 2) you will see a model created and analyzed using a sample company. \nThis webinar is taught by Lori Williams\, who has an extensive background in finance working as a CFO turnaround consultant\, banker and professor. She is known as the “guru of all numbers”. This webinar is NOT recorded. However\, it is presented monthly and can be repeated as desired. Attendees will receive a copy of presentation materials. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Learn CFO Skills: Financial Modeling Part 1
DESCRIPTION:A simple financial model can be created using your company’s financial data (historical and/or forecasted). CFOs and financial analysts use financial models to determine if/when a company will be profitable\, what is the correct selling price\, how many “widgets” need to be sold to be cover costs and how much money is available to pay expenses. Financial models are used for start-ups and for on-going analysis to make sure the company is operating at an optimal financial performance. This process is also used to identify financial issues BEFORE they happen. \nIn this session (Part 1) we will learn the purpose and importance of Managerial accounting. You will view a simple financial model and learn how to properly gather data. In the next session (Part 2) you will see a model created and analyzed using a sample company. SUMMARY:Should You Be Charging Your Customers Sales Tax? What You Need To Know.
DESCRIPTION:Should you charge sales tax? What if you are selling out of state or on an online platform? \nThese are the type of questions that many business owners are asking. \nAddressing sales tax requirements has been even more confusing. On June 21\, 2018\, The United States Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in South Dakota v. Wayfair that states can mandate that businesses without a physical presence in a state with more than 200 transactions or $100\,000 in-state sales collect and remit sales taxes on transactions in the state. \nEconomic Nexus gave states the ability to choose whether residents receiving products/services from out of state companies should pay sales tax. Unfortunately\, this varies state by state\, requiring sellers to have an understanding about the rules specific to the states they serve. \nSome selling platforms handle the invoicing\, collection\, and remittance while others simply allow you to ass sales tax to the invoice. It is crucial that you understand the requirements and know exactly what services the selling platform is providing. \nJoin us for our upcoming seminar to address this and other considerations regarding the collection of sales tax. This class is being taught by Lori Williams. Lori Williams is a business consultant\, speaker and writer. She has over 30 years of experience in business planning\, including start-ups\, growth and expansions. Lori is a well-known expert on business finance. She believes entrepreneurs should have a basic understanding of their company’s financial health. She provides business education and advice through her on-line courses\, eBooks and individualized consulting sessions. Her eBooks are distributed through Amazon\, iTunes and Barnes and Noble. \nLori holds an MBA from Pepperdine University\, BS Business and Management\, Enrolled Agent (EA) Certified by the U.S. Treasury as a Tax Preparer. She also has an AA in Medical Science and a Practitioner’s License in NeuroLinguistic Programming. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Business Finance Literacy Series [Session 2 of 3] Using an Excel Document for Financial Modeling and Forecasting
DESCRIPTION:A simple Excel financial model can be created using your company’s financial data (historical and/or forecasted). \nCFOs and financial analysts use Excel models to determine if/when a company will be profitable\, what is the correct selling price\, how many “widgets” need to be sold to be cover cost\, and how much money is available to pay expenses. \nFinancial models are used for start-ups and for on-going analysis to make sure the company is operating at an optimal financial performance. This process is also used to identify financial issues BEFORE they happen. \nIn this session we will begin with a blank Excel document and create a financial model for a sample company.  By the end of the seminar you will understand how to create a customized Excel model for your business. \nThis webinar is taught by Lori Williams\, who has an extensive background in finance working as a CFO turnaround consultant\, banker and professor. She is known as the “guru of all numbers”. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Business Finance Literacy Series [Session 1 of 3] What You Need To Know About Accounting And Financial Record Keeping
DESCRIPTION:How to handle the accounting and financial record keeping is one of the most difficult decisions company owners make. They ask questions such as: Should we use QuickBooks online\, QuickBooks desktop or some other program? What records do we need to keep for tax reporting? Should we hire someone to do our bookkeeping? What is the difference between a bookkeeper\, accountant and CPA? How do we know we are hiring the right person? \nUnfortunately\, too many small business owners do not properly manage their company’s finances. They use accounting software without fully understanding the processes or blindly trusting others. This leads to costly mistakes and tax filing issues. \nIn this session we will cover the basics of accounting: what you need to record and why. You will learn what information is required for tax filling. \nThis webinar is taught by Lori Williams\, who has an extensive background in finance working as a CFO turnaround consultant\, banker and professor. She is known as the “guru of all numbers”. \nREGISTER NOW
