SUMMARY:Should You Be Charging Sales Tax – What You Need to Know!
DESCRIPTION:Should you charge sales tax? What if you are selling out of state or on an online platform? \nThese are the type of questions that many business owners are asking. Addressing sales tax requirements has been even more confusing. On June 21\, 2018\, The United States Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in South Dakota v. Wayfair that states can mandate that businesses without a physical presence in a state with more than 200 transactions or $100\,000 in-state sales collect and remit sales taxes on transactions in the state. \nEconomic Nexus gave states the ability to choose whether residents receiving products/services from out of state companies should pay sales tax. Unfortunately\, this varies state by state\, requiring sellers to have an understanding about the rules specific to the states they serve. \nSome selling platforms handle the invoicing\, collection\, and remittance while others simply allow you to ass sales tax to the invoice. It is crucial that you understand the requirements and know exactly what services the selling platform is providing. \nJoin us for our upcoming seminar where will address this and other considerations regarding the collection of sales tax. This class is being taught by Lori Williams. \nLori Williams is a business consultant\, speaker and writer. She has over 30 years of experience in business planning\, including start-ups\, growth and expansions. Lori is a well-known expert on business finance. She believes entrepreneurs should have a basic understanding of their company’s financial health. She provides business education and advice through her on-line courses\, eBooks and individualized consulting sessions. Her eBooks are distributed through Amazon\, ITunes and Barnes and Noble. Lori holds an MBA from Pepperdine University\, BS Business and Management\, an AA in Medical Science and a Practitioner’s license in NeuroLinguistic Programming. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Government and Corporate Procurement for Black-Owned Businesses
DESCRIPTION:Small Businesses are leaving an astounding amount of money on the table – This training is about showing up and taking your share!! \nThe federal government alone spent almost $250B with small businesses in 2018! More money would be set aside for small businesses\, if they only show up. The story is the same on the city/state and corporate levels. RightSource Services has partnered with the Los Angeles Small Business Development Center to train established small businesses to participate in the incredible procurement opportunities available through corporate and government entities. The training takes companies from identifying opportunities all the way to responding to their first request. \nThis webinar gives an overview of the opportunities available and the training provided by  the LA-SBDC through its partner\, RightSource Services\, to compete effectively and grow your business. \nRightSource follows that up with a six-class series to get procurement-ready businesses through the certification and registration processes and on to actually responding to a contract solicitation. \n  \n
