    Info:

Starting a business or introducing a new product within a current business can be an overwhelmingly risky endeavour. Many people build their products without ever really knowing if their intended market is willing to purchase them from them at a price that is scalable and sustainable.

By attending this seminar attendees will learn a new approach to business development that will leverage the scientific method and lean manufacturing to create a rapid approach to validating ideas to quickly turn them into a scalable business model which is ready for investment. This presentation will address this need by explaining the main components of the Customer Discovery and Customer Validation concept developed by Steve Blank including the introduction of lean methodology and the Business Model Canvas.

Join Barney Santos, a serial entrepreneur and expert on Lean Startup Methodology. Having been bit with the entrepreneurial bug at an early age, Barney’s passion for business development was extremely apparent early on. Just after graduating High School, Barney launched a successful Real Estate Mortgage company which was, in his words, “the best business school I could have ever attended”. At 24, he launched, what would become, the largest Field Inspection Management company in South Central LA, which was responsible for managing roughly $250 Million in foreclosed Real Estate bank assets.

Barney now focuses his efforts helping other people just like him navigate through the crazy world of being an entrepreneur. During this time, he founded an award winning non-profit organization that focused on removing all barriers of entry for college students in order to encourage them to start businesses while at school.

Barney now works for a large Fortune 150 company called Unilever as a Market Manager and was recently accepted as a cohort within the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corp program. During his off time Barney finds himself teaching a New Venture Management class at California State University, Los Angeles and working on his latest startup “Gentefy”.
