Intellectual Property and the Business of Licensing

This seminar will explore the fundamentals of intellectual property; how to obtain a patent, copyright, or trademark and how to use them; and how to license these ideas to or from other companies. It will provide a business perspective and will give you an understanding of the terminology, the available resources, costs, timing and rules of thumb necessary for licensing. Technical, legal, financial and practical issues will be explored, providing a business perspective for estimating patent costs, values and royalty rates. Both US and International licensing issues will be explored.

Advanced Manufacturing Partnership for Southern California (AMP SoCal)

The Advanced Manufacturing Partnership for Southern California (AMP SoCal) was created to strengthen Southern California aerospace and defense manufacturers and their supply chain. Jay Williams, Assistant Secretary of Commerce, and Kevin Mitchell, Vice President of Global Supply Chain for Northrop Grumman, will both be speaking at this event. In addition, there will be a handful of panels that will speak and advise on defense, future work goals and ideas, innovation, and supply chain procurement.
