CTIP’s main mission has been to address the substantial unmet need for novel pediatric medical devices, as well as the appropriate adaptation and validation of existing adult devices for children.
Our Partnership
CTIP recently received a five-year, $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration which enables it to bring together the best experts to accelerate the development of pediatric medical devices, a path with many obstacles due to the often small target populations and the challenges of addressing a vulnerable population. The SBDC Octane program in Orange County provides CTIP support in product development and commercialization of innovative pediatric healthcare technologies, with the expressed goal of providing greater access to the CTIP’s life-saving innovations for a wider patient population. In the past, the CTIP has provided event sponsorship and speaker participation for network related events.
