LA SBDC clients celebrate the grand reopening of Mariposa Junction, a business center devastated by the Los Angeles fires, brought back to life with the help of the LA SBDC.

The LA SBDC provides local, on-the-ground support to small business owners across Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties.

The LA SBDC supports local manufacturers in accessing capital for equipment and working capital, adopting advanced technologies, and developing a skilled workforce.

These services help small manufacturers scale sustainably, create jobs, and strengthen domestic supply chains.

Disaster Relief

Whether it is fires, floods, or both, small businesses are heavily impacted by the natural disasters that affect the LA area communities.

In 2025, the LA SBDC played a key role in helping affected businesses recover and rebuild after the Los Angeles fires devastated local communities throughout the region.  

A treasured stretch of Altadena’s Mariposa shopping district reopened just in time for the holiday season, thanks to the LA SBDC. The revival of Mariposa Junction marks a major milestone for a group of small businesses that chose to rebuild following the devastation of the Eaton Fire.

Today, with the help of the LA SBDC, five locally owned businesses are once again welcoming customers, a moment of celebration for the entire region.

The Cookie Lady and other new businesses got started with LA SBDC programs like the ‘Maker to Market’ program.

As part of Small Business Saturday, California State Senator Lena Gonzalez and U.S. Rep. Robert Garcia helped award funds to support small businesses.

Dedo Coffee is one of more than 500 small business that got started with the LA SBDC in 2025.

Small business owners like artist Austin Scott worked with the LA SBDC to rebuild after the 2025 LA Fires.

The Los Angeles Regional SBDC Network (LA SBDC) program is funded by a $4,406,190 Cooperative Agreement through the US Small Business Administration (SBA), and is matched dollar for dollar by non-federal funds.
