
In collaboration with Kinecta, the Office of Congresswoman Maxine Waters, the City of Hawthorne, and El Camino SBDC we are excited to introduce our joint two-day symposium for small businesses – Let’s Scale for Tomorrow!
This program is designed for businesses with at least two years of operating history that are ready to scale and grow to the next level. To be eligible, participants must complete a qualifying questionnaire and submit both a SWOT analysis and a one-page business plan template.
Program Curriculum
This in-person, two-day program combines instruction, interactive participation, case studies, and breakout sessions. Each segment will be led and moderated by an industry expert from El Camino SBDC. We will cover a wide range of critical topics that small businesses need to understand to scale effectively.
By the end of the program, our goal is for participants to:

- Management & Hiring: Learn best practices for recruiting, hiring, mentoring talent, and building a positive, values-driven culture.

- Marketing & Sales: Master the fundamentals of marketing, including identifying your target audience and developing effective strategies (e.g., digital marketing, social media) to reach them.

- Operations & Technology: Discover how to improve efficiency and profitability through better operational practices and technology.

- Planning & Forecasting: Learn to anticipate and manage both predictable and unpredictable challenges associated with growth.
Breakout Sessions

- Financial Statements: Understand how financial statements are created and use simple tools to evaluate business performance.

- You Are the Lender: Review small business loan applications to identify red flags and understand required financial documentation.

- Certification & the 2028 Olympics: Learn about federal, state, and local certifications, and how to prepare your business to participate as a vendor for the 2028 Olympics and other major LA events.

- Legal/HR Considerations: California laws can be complex—especially for small businesses. Meet with HR and legal experts to navigate key compliance issues.
